Carol Hagerman began her studies with Edgar Whitney, considered the dean of American watercolor painting. "It was a fabulous beginning for me. Among other things, he instilled in me the love of teaching."
Carol likes to paint from life and, although her subject matter varies from figures and animals to landscapes and florals, she remains true to detail.
She is a popular teacher, stressing classical design principles--which are often overlooked by other instructors.
Carol was the contributing author for the best seller book, written by Ron Ranson of England entitled: "Learn Watercolor the Edgar Whitney Way".
Carol wrote all the picture captions using them as teaching tools for design principle application.
Carol is a signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. The TWSA is the prestigious national organization which requires three juried admissions into its national show for signature membership.
